Weekly Update 5/16/16

Upcoming Events:

• 5/18    Renfroe Orientation Visit
• 5/25    FAVE Finale: Our classes are scheduled to begin at 12:45 -The opening portion will be in the Multi-purpose room, followed by Exhibition presentations to be held in assigned classrooms
• 5/27    Last day of School!

Instructional Updates:

Students are continuing to make progress on Exhibition. Last week our focus was writing Central Ideas and Lines of Inquiry. This week students will begin planning and putting together their presentation. Thank you to all of the mentors that are working hards with the groups to help ensure they are ready on FAVE Finale Day!

In math class students worked with collaborative groups to solve complex, multi-step problems. They showed their understanding of fifth grade math concepts, as well as perseverance and the ability to collaborate. Many of the students really enjoyed the challenge!

Math Homework 5/16/16

In science we reviewed chemical/physical changes by designing and tie-dying Field Day t-shirts. We also continued our inquiry in water as a finite resource by reviewing the water cycle and exploring a water sanitation simulation.
