Instructional Updates:
- Last week we jumped right into inquiring into How We Organize Ourselves. In science students are inquiring into the scientific classification system. We've begun our year with several hands-on labs including working to build boats to float pennies and creating a classifying system for shoes!
- In math we are inquiring into how numbers are organized in our base ten number system. Today we looked at the relationship between adjacent places on a place value chart. Students got homework today that is due Thursday. Below is a link to the homework as well as videos that may be helpful as students are working through the homework.
- In Social Studies we are inquiring into our Bill of Rights and relating it to our rights and responsibilities in the classroom.
- In writing are working on generating ideas for narrative writing and working on building stamina during our writing block.
- In Reading we are making connections to self and other texts, choosing just right books and analyzing characters.
