Friday students set up their Potato Petri Dish science inquiry. Each table group chose two surfaces to swab and wrote a hypothesis for the "dirtiest" surface in the building. We'll be checking our potatoes over the course of the week. We also checked out the website below that helped up identify both beneficial and harmful effect of microorganisms.
Microorganisms
In math this week we will continue working with the properties of multiplication: associative, commutative and distributive. Students will also multiply multi-digit factors connecting area models to the standard algorithm for multiplication. I've found a great website that offers tutorials on the Engage NY lessons that we are using in class. These may be helpful as students get stuck on homework problems.
